LEARNING TO «SIGN»
The
Galician Centre
of Contemporary Art organizes the project «Other word»,
aimed at disseminating artistic creativity among deaf people. People
with hearing problems face an important communication barrier in
cultural spaces, where it is still rare to have guided visits in
sign language. The project not only wants to bring art near the addressed people, but also to integrate the deaf and hearing communities in a common experience. For this, a mix group of 15 people met but those who could hear had to block their ears to understand the others situation. |

The guide person is bachelor in Art and trained in sign language, avoiding
the necessity of an interpreter, making what she means and what she transmits
closer.
