NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR INTEGRATION

The technological advances help the school integration of people with disabilities, maybe mainly the blind ones. The agreements between different universities and ONCE, together with the suitable technical aids, have enlarged the amount of university blinds.
The main resources are based on applying new technologies and mini-computers with braille keyboards and voice synthesizers. The stored data are then download in the PC memory. In the computer, the tactile screen

reader has been substituted by a braille line set all along the keyboard. The digitalization of texts and books is a combination of both possibilities.
Even so, the adaptation of sources and materials involves an implication that must be taken away from the study time. This does not keep people with sight problems from being increasingly integrated in the university community.
